In addition, Tom has worked as a Crime Prevention Officer helping residents reduce the opportunity for crime to occur. Tom is currently assigned as a Criminal Investigator.
Tom’s interest in the paranormal started over 10 years ago. After attending numerous organized ghost tours throughout the country, and several personal paranormal experiences, Tom decided to pursue this interest and has had the opportunity to conduct paranormal investigations both overseas and in the US. Tom thoroughly enjoys paranormal investigating and hopes to add more credibility to the field.

Since then, Ron had experienced some significant paranormal activity which he had captured on video. This prompted Ron to pursue an explanation. Ron discovered there were other Police Officers who wanted answers for apparent paranormal occurrences. Ron subsequently formed, the Chicago Paranormal Detectives. Ron’s goal is to find "evidence" of paranormal activity and, to help people who request assistance from this group.
Aside from enjoying the work he does in these two fields, Ron enjoys family time with his children.
Austin Weinstock - Investigator
Austin can put anyone at ease with his country boy bigger than life attitude. Through the observation of evidence, his skepticism is beginning to disappear somewhat and he is getting closer to believing.
Austin has been in Law Enforcement since 2005. To date, Austin’s duties have included uniformed patrol, tactical patrol assignments, continuing education for children and other special assignments relative to resistance of gang crimes and narcotics. Austin’s interest in Law Enforcement began as he watched his Father and Brother (also experienced Police Officers) as they worked Criminal and Civil cases with “Weinstock Investigations”. (a family owned and operated business) This is where Austin learned the reliable, professional, objective and “call it like you see it” approach to Investigations. Austin feels every claim and statement demands evidence.
Austin's interest in the paranormal started in 2000, when he observed what seemed to be a paranormal experience. In the beginning it was questions such as, "Where do we go when we leave this earth?" "How does it work?" "What remains and what leaves?" After a while of not being able to answer these questions, he decided to move forward and seek his own explanations. Austin believes there are people who experience more than they are willing to share and would like the opportunity to investigate those experiences. Austin simply desires to share the truth of what has been seen, heard, felt, etc. With an evidentiary value, Austin believes CPD will bring professionalism and credibility to the field.
Outside his official duties and paranormal intrigue, Austin cherishes time with his family and friends as well as composing and playing music on the guitar and piano. Whether it’s a day on the lake or a day in the woods, Austin seems to be drawn towards nature.
Pete Schleich - Investigator
Pete is the skeptic of the group. He is a blunt, and “prove it to me" kind of guy. You always know exactly where you stand with Pete. It’s difficult to get him
worked up.
Pete has been in Law Enforcement since 2003. Pete works within the patrol division and has also been trained and currently works as an Evidence Technician. With his experience in forensics, he is able to accurately and precisely process crime scenes and in turn use this knowledge and training in order to gather the most accurate and detailed evidence from our paranormal investigations.
Prior to becoming a Police Officer, Pete worked as a computer consultant for a wide variety of companies. He was also assigned the position of manager and had several teams of engineers reporting to him. This experience afforded Pete the opportunity to learn his technical expertise which he is also able to apply to our investigations, again for the purpose of gathering as much evidence for review as possible.
Pete has been interested in the paranormal for some time. He is truly a skeptic and is looking to capture some type of concrete evidence to prove or disprove the presence of the paranormal. He joined the Chicago Paranormal Detectives in order to explore the possibilities of the paranormal.
Moriah Rhame - Medium
Moriah is the Medium of the group and only female team member who happens to be a kidder and knows how to hang with the boys. and pets.
Brian Jones - Investigative Assistant
If there was an award in high school for “Least Likely to Investigate Paranormal Activity”, Brian Jones would have won the title running away. Frankly, running away is what he does best. Ironically, Brian is fearless when it comes to revealing the things in life he fears the most: Scary movies, loud noises, and barrel-chested, cigar-chompin’, police officers. So how, precisely, did a man with the fortitude of a small child end up working nights in some of America’s most terrifying places alongside a bunch of cops? It’s a question Brian, and his therapist, grapple with weekly…at $125 an hour.
This less-than-intrepid Investigative Assistant serves as a sort of “canary in the haunted coalmine”: Brian’s uncanny self-preservation instinct is so finely tuned, when he turns tail and runs for the hills, it’s clear spirits are afoot.
Brian has authored two books, is a graduate of Chicago’s famed Second City Conservatory, and was a notary public for a brief time in 1998.
Scot Ziarko - Investigative Assistant
Scot is the teams' video technical member. He is laid back and can be a bit of a devil's advocate but wants to have a life changing paranormal experience. Scot has been a professional videographer and editor for 14 years.
Throughout his career, Scot has worked in the exciting world of non-profit, event, corporate, and legal video production as well as editing in the same.
Scot has filmed events for some of Chicago's biggest sports stars and some of his video footage has been seen on a popular wedding TV program. More recently, Scot has produced music videos and training video DVD's as well as numerous legal videos.
Scot's personal experience as a child got him interested in the paranormal but, his collaboration on a project with fellow CPD Investigator Tom Froelich brought him into the real world of paranormal investigations, which has quickly become a favorite activity.
When he is not working with CPD, Scot enjoys spending time with his family and supporting them in their personal activities.
