What is a Medium?
So, what exactly is a medium anyway? A medium is someone who feels or perceives energy beyond the normal five senses. Someone who is open to the idea that you can hear messages from those who have passed away, spirit guides, angels, and your God source.
What if nobody in my circle of family or friends believes my paranormal claim?
When you defend your beliefs to others who disagree with you, it is imperative to remain rooted in understanding. It is hard to avoid anger when others attack you, but it is necessary to remain calm. If you have faith in yourself and your beliefs, walk away from the situation and leave it for another time. You do not have to defend yourself. It is not required to prove yourself or your beliefs to anyone other than yourself. If your mind is full of any one idea, there is no room for anything else than that one idea. You cannot take it personally. We all agree to disagree about politics, sports, religion etc, and this should be no different.
What is the best way to contact CPD?Email requests are answered as soon as possible.
How long do I have to wait for an investigation once I request one?This depends on the circumstances. CPD has to determine if the proper criteria exists for us to conduct an investigation in relation to your case. Once this is accomplished, we then take into consideration how quickly you can prepare your location for an investigation. Keep in mind as well, the investigators have to coordinate their availability. It could be anywhere from 7-14 days.
Can CPD cleanse my home or haunted area?We do not claim to have the ability to do this. However, a Medium or Spiritual Leader can provide you with some forms of guidance in that area.
Am I expected to donate funding?Our investigations require no payment. Services are offered free of charge.
What if I have pets?All pets must be relocated prior to an investigation.
Where do I go while an investigation is under way?We allow one person to remain nearby.
What should I expect to gain from an investigation?Put your mind at ease and know that you have credible investigators who have come to help you. Your comfort is our priority. In some instances we may find reasonable explanations for what you are experiencing.
Why is CPD unique?Many other paranormal groups exist. For the most part, they have good intentions. They are comprised of curious people from all walks of life who conduct investigations. The Chicago Paranormal Detectives are the only known paranormal research group staffed by current, certified Police Officers. Credibility is our primary concern. We can not afford to make false assumptions, and require absolute certainty and hard evidence to determine if paranormal activity exists.
Do I have to be on T.V.?No. Our television series will only involve those giving consent.
Will CPD think Im crazy?Not at all. We are non-judgmental and open to listen to you.
Are you guys real cops?Absolutely! We are all full time certified Police Officers in the Chicago area.
What is CPD's criteria for investigations?We do not conduct cases based on curiosity. There has to be an immediate need due to some form of exigence.
We do not work cases in apartments, townhouses or condo's.
We work cases in the greater Chicago Metropolitan area.
We focus our attention on cases where visual or audible phenomena is reported. Things like feelings of being watched, dreams, or other sensations cannot be recorded. We cant consider anything which is not recorded as evidence.
